This Week in Music NFTs - Dec 19
Criteria makes Sound history. Bonfire and Decent fundraises. Covering an emphatic end to 2022.
You fit the Criteria.
Daniel & Reo teamed up to sell out 2500 editions on Sound - the largest of any drop on the platform to date.
With activations across Sound, Bonfire, OnCyber, Spinamp and Arpeggi, the drop was hard to miss.
This came with the announcement of two more raises - Bonfire and Decent - both of which shared their recent rounds.
What it’s pointing to is a tipping point for the growing sector.
It’s a running joke that Music NFTs aren’t valuable.
Expect 2023 to flip this narrative on its head.
What started as a small niche pocket is quickly turning into one of the most exciting pockets of web3.
Still - we can’t lose sight of the vision.
Most fans still have no clue Music NFTs exist, nor that they can collect these songs if they wanted to.
It’s a part of a wider conversation around education, and making sure artists and collectors are hip to what’s happening on the ground floor.
Expect the next two weeks to be rather quiet as everyone rests up for a big year ahead.
This year has been nothing short of incredible.
Here’s what to watch for this week.
